TANK ANTI-harassment policy
Towards an Anti-Racist North Kingstown (TANK) is committed to creating an inclusive environment free from harassment and intimidation, and to a culture based on the principles of mutual respect and integrity. We do not tolerate harassment or intimidation of event participants in any form at any of our events, including We Are ALL Readers.
Harassment includes, but is not limited to, offensive verbal comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disabilities, neurodiversity, physical appearance, body size, ethnicity, nationality, race, age, religion, pregnancy, or other protected category; deliberate intimidation; stalking; following; harassing photography or recording; sustained disruption of talks or other events; inappropriate physical or digital contact; and advocating for or encouraging any harassing behaviors. Sexual harassment is a form of harassment, which includes, but is not limited to, unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, unwelcome or offensive touching, sexual innuendos, posting of sexual images in public spaces, and other verbal, graphic, or physical conduct of a sexual nature. Like any other form of harassment, it is a violation of TANK’s anti-harassment policy and will not be tolerated.
If a participant engages in harassing or uncomfortable behavior, the event organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning or expelling the offender from the event. Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately. TANK reserves the right to refuse admittance to, or remove any person from, our events at any time at its sole discretion. This includes, but is not limited to, attendees behaving in a disorderly manner or failing to comply with this policy.
This policy extends to talks, workshops, social media, electronic communications, and hallway conversations, for all event attendees, partners, presenters, and volunteers..
If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a TANK member immediately. Our members can usually be identified by name badges or attire.
